Paediatric First Aid Courses
For Childcare Providers in Line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Required by Ofsted.
All of our paediatric first aid courses (often spelled as pediatric first aid courses) run in line with Ofsted and EYFS requirements.
Ofsted will expect the course to be relevant to the ages of children in your care so we will adapt our courses to suit your needs.
If under 5’s are present in your setting then we recommend the 12 hour course.
Blended Paediatric First Aid Course
This is a 12 hr blended course (blended = 6 hours practical learning plus 6 hours online)
Who Should Attend:
This paediatric first aid course is suitable for people aged 16 and over who care for babies and children professionally: babysitters, nannies, child-minders, pre-school teachers, nursery nurses, teaching assistants, and those who run baby groups, playgroups, kids classes may also want to attend.
Course Content:
Managing incidents
Basic life support for babies and children and Adults (CPR)
Examination of the casualty
Unconsciousness
Use of an AED
Choking
Anaphylactic Shock
Electric Shock
Asthma
Poisoning
Control of bleeding and wound management
Shock
Head injuries
Meningitis
Febrile and epileptic seizures
Diabetes
Burns and scalds
Eye, ear, mouth, and nose injuries
Fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains
Effects of extreme hot and cold
Equipment and regulations
Paediatric First Aid Course Requirements:
This is an accredited course, where upon completion of the FULL 6 hour day practical, face to face training, delegates will then be sent their online training login. Once the 6 hours online training has been completed and a test has been taken, the learner will be awarded a certificate which they can download and print.
**You must have demonstrated your first aid skills and knowledge by taking part in all practical sessions and tasks as well as completing the online exam at the end of the course.**

Paediatric First Aid Courses at your venue
If you are in a nursery or pre-school setting, we realise that it can be difficult to have your staff fit onto one of our scheduled available courses, and therefore we would be delighted to provide on-site training for you and your staff on a day and time that suits you.

Lovely practical on site day course with Catherine. I usually feel exhausted and overwhelmed after attending first aid courses but I actually didn’t even feel it was that long and still left with so much information.
